Deosai National Park Gilgit Baltistan..
Deosai national park is located skardu at an elevation of 13000 feet above the sea level with an area of 3626 sq km area.it is known as"Land of Giants"and"Roof of the Earth".The park area has a very unique position as it is the second largest plateau of the world..it is open only 4 month and other month are closed due to snow fall.Many animals like brown bear marmat and hundred types of different flower and birds are found here.
Brown Bear At Deosai National Park Skardu
The himalayan brown bear (ursus arctos)is found at deosai national park skardu.Its color vary from dark reddish brown to light sandy shades .brown bear is characterized by a distinctive hump on its shoulder a slightly dished profile to the face and along claw on the front paws.Brown bear is found inn abundance in Motana idaho Alaska in North America.In pakistan,It is restricted to alpine meadows and sub alpine scrub.some brown bear have seen in biafo glacier but many brown bear are found in deosai national park.there is a continuous threat to brown bear population in all local of its existence due to poaching of young cubs.the little cubs are capture by gypsy tribes..various hunter are also threat to this important animal who kill bear to obtain its skin fats any body orgen to sale in market.The population of brown bear in 1993 was 19 it increased to 43 in 2006 56 in 2008 ,62 in 2009.
